“ This place is good. Their siu mai is so big and I believe it's 4 pieces for $4.89. I have come here a few times already since it's a quick grab and go place and it's right next to my house. I also like their chicken feet and the noodles. The shrimp rice rolls are not good to go because it can get a bit too thick when it's cooled down. Ha gow is also huge and they have a great selection of baos. There is a min charge of $20 for credit card otherwise you have to pay a fee. There also extra costs for sauces. Overall, very affordable and the aunties who work there are nice. Would definitely come here when I need a dim sum fix. ”
“ I'm lucky to have found Lucky 1 Restaurant! The dim sum is tasty and incredibly reasonably priced--truly a jackpot for dim sum lovers. Despite the language barrier, the ladies here are always friendly and ready to help, making the experience feel extra welcoming. Our must-haves? The har gow, siu mai, and sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf--total winners every time. This place is also my go-to for takeout since they're fast and efficient. It's the perfect solution when I'm in a dim for time but still want something delicious! ”
“ I've passed by this place countless times but never really took the time to check it out--until 2023! I finally walked through the door to see what kind of Hong Kong-style snacks they offer, and I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as you walk in, the space is divided into two sections. On the left, there's a hot food and drinks counter where customers can place their orders. At the front is a refrigerator stocked with frozen dim sum to take home. Pre-pandemic, the right side was a dine-in area, but it's now closed off and being used as a workspace for the staff. Currently, they only offer takeout. Their dim sum menu is divided into two price categories: A: $4.19 and B: $4.59 (priced in 2023), with a variety of steamed, baked, and fried options. We took the following items home to try: * Siu Mai (4 pieces) - Large and packed with filling, very satisfying! (Category B) * BBQ Pork Puff (3 pieces) - Flaky pastry with sweet char siu inside. (Category B) * Sesame Red Bean Balls (3 pieces) - Crispy and nutty on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside. (Category A) * Coconut Sago Dessert - Creamy and refreshing, priced at $3.59. The filling in each dim sum item was generous and flavorful, rivaling what you'd get in a full-service restaurant. The prices were also super reasonable! They also offered birthday cakes (which need to be pre-ordered) and have daily specials on stir-fried dishes for $11.99, available from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Next time, I'm bringing ice packs and cooler so I can stock up on their frozen shrimp dumplings and potstickers to keep in my freezer for future cravings! 7637 Garvey Ave, Rosemead, CA 91770 ”
“ If you're looking for a solid dim sum take out spot, Lucky is the place to go! This is a mom and pop shop, hole in the wall restaurant, and the auntie taking my order was friendly, quick and patient. With the prices and portion size, I'm not complaining, I spent around $100 and it fed 6 people! The selection and variety is definitely more than I had thought they would have, literally ordered everything I would have at a sit down restaurant. The shrimp and beef rolls, har how, siu mai, chicken feet, salted custard buns, ham sui gok, and egg tarts were yummy When I'm craving for dim sum and I'm not trying to spend too much, I'll definitely be back! ”
“ Went here for dim sum. It's Togo only. Good portions and quality. Everything tastes fresh and hot. You order your food first and then they will give you a number, and then you'll line up at the register and pay when they call you or when it's ready. The parking is a hot mess, it's a large plaza with lots of parking spots but so many people are coming and going that it can be difficult. The staff were really friendly, even though we didn't speak the same language we made do. My favorite was the shumai and the baked buns with custard egg yolks. Yum! ”
“ 5 Stars for value AND taste. While I still maintain "HK Dim Sum House" as the *BEST* dim sum in the 626, their prices are just too high for a hole-in-wall. For $32 that I paid for 3 items there, I can get 5-6 items at "Lucky 1", and about 90% "HK Dim Sum House" quality. They also sell bags of frozen XLB, wontons and dumplings for $27-$30. Open 7:30am-7pm, Closed Tuesdays. ”
“ No seating suggest for you to already look at menu before you arrive as it's a bit of a rush to order and staff is very busy also food is a bit pricey but makes up in flavor when in the are this is a must try location for DIM SUM ”
“ My go-to place for solid dim sum in SoCal. i've been coming to this restaurant for close to 4 years, and since COVID, they've converted their business model to takeout-only. service is very quick, and everything is already made to order (& shouldn't take longer than a few minutes)! they get quite a few takeout orders, i've observed. my go-to's: - shrimp hargow: my personal favorite dish of dim sum. it's not too pasty, skin isn't too thick, and good balance of wrapping and shrimp - chicken fingers: my other personal favorite dish of dim sum. perfectly marinated in the sauce and meat is lush and soft - siu mai: pretty large and shrimp tastes nice - bean curd roll: the closest dish to vegetarian. this dish makes me feel healthy when i eat it - shrimp rice roll: yummy. well anything is yummy when it's drenched in soy sauce LOL - salted egg yolk pineapple bun: i love bolo bao!!! even better with yolk custard inside ”
“ Delicious as always. It's 價廉物美 aka, cheap (for dim sum, it's all more expensive now) but good. The best kind of food. My favorites are the pineapple milk custard buns (Chinese concha with custard filling), baked bbq pork buns, siu mai (shrimp dumplings), lo bak go (turnip cakes) and spring rolls. Mom loves the chicken and pigs feet along with the ha gow (shrimp dumplings). Bro loves the fried shrimp and spring rolls. Dad likes the gai mei bao (coconut custard bun) and nor mai gai (Chinese tamale). They take cash and card if your order is over $20. I'm excited to check out their frozen foods too, I'm sure they're delicious since they made them. Mom's gotten the dried shrimp they sell and said it's good quality too. So I'd vouch for the grocery items they sell. Great mom and pops place, hope they always do well and have good business. ”
“ 12/09/2023 I came by this morning to get some delicious dimsum for breakfast. It's my wife's birthday so a morning surprise for her. I went to town put in a large order bill came out to +$60 wow I said out loud that's expensive all the workers looked at me and smiled. I ordered 2-shu mai, hom su gok, 2-shrimp and chive dumplings, steamed chashu bao, egg tarts, red bean sesame balls, 2-white turnip cake, chicken feet and spareribs. And then went to 7-11 got 2 large vanilla nut coffees. All this great food for 2 people will last a few days. Everything was hot and fresh, delicious as always. The prices were slightly raised due to the great job by our President Bungling Joe. ”
